Recently

Lately it seems like all I do is organize addresses, schedule photographers and calm down a crazy woman. Yes, this does mean that I am engaged. Stacey and I are getting married on July 29 in Rexburg.I proposed at the end of May, just before the girl turned 20. Don't ask me what I was thinking proposing to a teenager, I'm still trying to figure it out myself. But it turned out great and she was thrilled. Apparently she thought she'd waited long enough to get a ring on her finger.Getting engaged was just the beginning of an already crazy summer. Both of us are taking eight credits at school and I'm just trying to keep up with my work load. It seems like time is just flying by. We have been able to get out and go camping a couple of times though, it is always good to be able to take a break from all the stresses and enjoy the great outdoors.
Hunting season can't come soon enough this year! I've put Stacey and I in for a bunch of tags, which we are still waiting to hear back on, but I'm confident it will end up being a great season. Just gotta get through six more weeks, and a wedding...

I do fun things

The last few weeks have been pretty eventful. Between my home improvement projects, school, work and Stacey's spring break.
Last week started off with my ever problematic sprinkler system. I ended up replacing all the valves and it all took longer than I would've liked it to. Two Saturdays spent dealing with sprinklers is too much. And it's still not working how I'd like it to.
At least I have a good neighbor who helps me out...

The Sunday night dutch oven get together is still going strong... even though Trevor & Chelsi had their baby Thursday night. We still got together at their house on Sunday for some cajun chicken, curry rice and turtle cake. It was great to have Stace there for a change... I didn't have to get my own drink once!

Later in the week, Stacey and I went on a short hike up in Leeds.
She loved it and the weather was great.

Garrett and Paige were down for the last part of the week, so Garrett came with Stacey and I up to Snow Canyon for another short hike.
We went early in the morning, and it was a great view seeing the sun come up and hit the red rocks. Definitely a different kind of scenery than I'm used to.

Hiking in sand proved to be a little bit difficult.

The Daily Grind

Nothing really new or exciting has been going on, but I thought it might be time for an update anyway. Seeing how we are into March now. Work is actually going really well, I keep really busy. Which drives Stacey crazy sometimes. But she survives. School is, well, school. I'm just ready to be done.
I went home to Orem a couple of weeks ago and was able to see the new nephews and be with Stacey for a few days. The kids are cute and it was great to see my woman again. Spring break will be here by the end of this week... four more days to go...Lately I've been getting together on the occasional Sunday night to do dinner with friends. Trevor & Chelsi and Jeremy and his wife Chelsea... its a nice way to end (or begin?) a week and have some good company, and always great food.
Last weekend Paige and Garrett came down to visit. We had fun going out to dinner and a movie. Always great to see my good friends!

Christmas and the following weeks

December flew by, and it seems like I'm always trying to catch up. We had a great Christmas in Orem, Stacey spent the holidays with my family. We had the usual Christmas Eve dinner, and the nephews and nieces opened their presents. Grant, Braden and Will
Gabby, Halie and Louise

A couple of weeks after Christmas, we went with Stacey's family to California. We went to the Rose Bowl Parade, watched the game, had lots of good food, including fresh lemons from her Grandma's yard.
Then we went to Disneyland. If you ever want to see six adults become little kids, go with Stacey's fam to Disneyland. They wore me out by the end of the day. But it was fun and we had a good time.

We got back to St. George and Stacey still had one week of break left, but then she got sick and spent the week on the couch/in bed. It drove us both crazy to not be able to do anything, but it was still nice to spend time with her.
Now she's back up at school and I'm back in school and working, and life is stressful again. I'm going to be hunting this weekend in Wellington though, hopefully I'm able to shoot an elk and bring home some good meat!
